Well, to put it short, I wanted to make a vector of a kimono girl.
Because all the cool people vector kimono girls..... it wasn't that hard because I kept everythig tidy this time, I like how it turned out, the textures fit so well... or at least that's what I think.

But when I was done I didn't have idea of what kind of wallpaper I should make, so here it is.
Enjoy. And make a wall (or give me an idea) if you can =)

Chosen by Saikusa and EternalParadox

The textures really make this one stand out. They provide the subtle variations that incorporate the bright colors into the feel of fabric. Very well done.

Proposed by Saikusa and highlighted by EternalParadox.

It's really pretty, I know it must be hard to vector the pattern on the kimono and you did it very well :D Keep it up :D

I love the colors, the blends, and the textures, beautiful job all around.

As for suggestions, I would say do some sort of woodgrain floor beneath her and considering the lighting based on her skin tones, you could figure in something like moonlight/candle light through door/window etc. The angle is what I think makes it difficult, it limits you to having to pick a surface and cover the entire area. Beyond something a on the abstract side, I'd say stick with using lighting for your variation in the background and just pick a surface texture.

Beautifuly done vector :D The texture on the kimono is a nice add ^^ It deserves a fave XD Keep it up!

I love kimono girls. You think maybe you could add a dark blue background, like she's drifting through space? You know, have stars all around her? Not very original, but I think it might be pretty.

Really neat vector! I did a Jigoku Shoujo vector once and those flowers on her kimono killed me x_x
    Anywho, very nicely done!

WUHA I love this. I usually fail at vectoring because I'm too impatient =/

*clap clap* nice going on this art, but i think more could be done in the background, but hey it's just a vector. Chaia chi!

The line work is strong & confident, but what really sets this apart is the colour! It practically demands to be adored!

This is a really nice vector! The lines are really clean, and the textures on the kimono are really nice! The only thing that I can complain about is the band of shadow under her bangs, it should match the bangs outline. Other that that tiny little thing, this vector is perfect! Thanks so much for sharing!

The colours are very nice, they poppped out so vibrantly, almost looks juicy, y'know like limes and lemons, haha.
Well, I like the linework and stuff, but the blurriness bugs me ... The texture seems blown up and blurred. Something funky about the flowers, looks like they are extruding out from the kimono, rather than part of it.

Nice job on shading and lighting there, it's looking cool, good work!

woww....amazing vector! really really like it! Ai is really creepy! But that's what makes her such an intresting character! fav*!

  19. azyl12 May 31, 2007

    -hmn.. it's quite nice...
The hair is quite 'scattered' though.
Suggestion: don't make the hair too scattered if she's lying on the floor

    It's nice anyway.
    Tee-hee
    :)

fantastic! I love the color, the hair and the design - I can see why this got a highlight :D

Lovely work - I look forward to you walling it.

I kind of get the impression that she is lying on the ground/grass, somewhere outside, gazing up at the sky reflecting/lamenting on life.

Oh my God! It is absolutely wonderful! I love the details! I think this anime is really interesting!
