My second entry for which?waller round 2, featuring Okami.
I just love Okami artwork, and have been wanting to make a wall for it for quite some time. It took a while to figure out what to do, though. I had traced Amaterasu's wolf form quite a few months ago, but didn't know what to do with the background until I saw another Okami scan with great iron snakes. I thought their samurai hats were amusing, so I combined the two scans into one wallpaper. I figured this would be my most recognizable wall because the texture is the same one I've used on dozens of Kino walls to impart the parchment feeling.
ZOMG DUAL WIDESCREEN WTF? ...I made this for work. Dual widescreen is awesome.

Yes, we all know this widescreen wall doesn't fit our screen, but we also know that it's an awesome wallpaper.

Although difficult to see the wall as a whole (since it's soooo big), as saikusa said, it "captures that simplistic yet visually striking appearance of Okami, and made it look as ancient as the scroll it is meant to be" (now, I don't really know Okami so I can't make any additions on that, but sounds cool as it is).

With the touch of Tama's traditional textures and simple shades of red, yellow and brown, she really brought out the characteristics of a scroll. It captures the moment flawlessly on screen.

Proposed by Saikusa and highlighted by euna.

Fantastic idea for a wallpaper. The general concept is awesome, the composition and the elements generate a very good idea.

Wow! This is beautiful! I love how Okami is a girl because they give credit us besides making main characters a male. >:D

I just love the idea. I like how you picked two different scans and combined them together. That was amazing! I even liked hwo you include the texture for it and how the color was quite brownish than black unlike the original scan. You raelly captured the concept for this wallpaper. :D

lol, I thought this was candy's 'cause she has a whole bunch of Okami scans... and because I thought you only made 2 (and I got your other two)

yay for widescreen! and duel screen reveals so much more ^__^

nice job putting together two scans ^^

Jaw drops. I loved the which waller version but dual widescreen version blows it out of the water. Though I'm glad you supplied the other resolutions so I can still use this on my desktop. Well executed and perfectly balanced composition - great work!

Of all your walls that you've just submitted this has got to be the best... or at least my favourite. It really captures that simplistic yet visually striking appearance of Okami, and made it look as ancient as the scroll it is meant to be. If only my monitor was this resolution...!

oh man... this is wicked. it's great. I must admit i can only see half the wall at a time LOL
BUT! it's really great how you brought out the moment so well. It'd be crime not to highlight this :D

    Love at first sight. :D

I've been trying to capture the scroll/old book/aged paper look for a while now, but never succeeded. *sigh*
Your works of arts are so lovely.

BTW, I think your wide screen versions on your blogspot got shrunken down...

How could this dragon portraying beauty have missed me for so long?

I really suck at browsing walls ^^"

You are such an awesome waller.

  17. ninasun100 May 27, 2007

Wow. This is really good. I like the portray of colors and how you arranged where everything should be. ^^

  18. WWLAOS Jun 07, 2007

That is absolutely beautiful. I love how the color scheme and the texture give it a scroll-like feel. Suddenly my monitor has become a display case at a museum of Japanese history...and it's the centerpiece of the exhibit. The samurai headgear on giant serpents is reason enough to download this. The wolf? Stunning.

Gorgeous wallpaper. Thank you so much for creating this beauty and uploading it for us to enjoy.
