The idea for this came about yesterday during an email thread, in which a coworker requested 100 Lava Lamps. I asked him if he wanted to use them for Lava Lamp Bowling, to which he replied he now wanted to request 200 Lamps and 100 lava-filled bowling balls.
Anyhow, the idea of Lava Lamp bowling was too good an image to pass up.
The fact that <strike> is an HTML tag fit in to the idea perfectly, as I intend to enter this into our group's tshirt design contest, although that version will have a tagline on the back. I haven't quite figured out what I want the tagline to say. Here were some of my ideas:
"HTML, powered by Google"
"Google: We Know HTML"
"Google: HTML Our Way"
I part some of it will depend on how we're actually allowed to use the word "Google". I'm pretty sure the first tagline won't be approved since 'powered by Google' is part of the brand, but it's still my favorite.
I wanted to keep the image fairly iconish and cartoonish similar to the newer Google icon style. And of course, primary colors are the rule.
How it was made
Basically, after some presketching (not shown, I'm too lazy to plug in the scanner) I did a quick render in Bryce 5.5 to figure out the arrangement and perspective of the 'pins', then a quick wireframe in Illustrator to flesh it out a bit more, and then it was all Illustrator for the win!

No other resolutions available. Add whitespace or crop it, there's plenty of room for both options.

That is the coolest thing I have seen in ages. I love those lava lamps, they look awesome. The wall has a nice, simple, clean look; no crazy exploding planets or plague of butterflies...which I am eternally grateful for. Super crazy!
