I find it a little bit hard on the eyes, perhaps because of the bright yellows and diagonal textures you used. The text and swirls look good, but I'm not sure if it was necessary to mirror the scan on the other side of the wall . . . I would've used a different scan of the same character perhaps? Great background and overall, a very good first submission!
