Es war einmal vor langer langer Zeit...
Once upon a Time...

I tried to imitate the style of an old fairytale book I read when I was little. Actually I forgot whether it was an European fairytale book or "Tales of the thousand and one nights"... ... Nyaa, doesn't matter cuz I really liked the illustration in the book.

It took me like 4 hours to finish the outlines and another 5 hours to colour with PS.
I didn't listen to any music and ate one croissant. (It was a big one though.)

This is bursting with originality & dedication! The seed of inspiration being the desire to re-create the look of a fairytale book has grown and blosssomed into this charming wallpaper.

Although it has more of an Oriental appearance than European with it's angular patterned design in the corner, trailing plants, phoenix-esque magical bird and swirling clouds. However, there is no question regarding the talent it took to create this. The use of light colours to create the line work instead of the usual severe black has added to the magical atmosphere, and the subtle use of texture created that feeling of old thick paper on which an old story would have been printed.

It's a beautiful slice of imagination that has been professionally brought to life... and will be a tough act to follow! We look forward to seeing what other magical artworks you can create!

Proposed by candy-chan and highlighted by Saikusa.

I have awaken from a long sumber filled with pain, sadness, hate in my heart. A great warrior, covered in flames said I will meet my maker. When I strucked by the flaming warrior's blade, I felt pain, not the flaming sword, but the pain of my hateful heart.
I died of my hate. When I was reborn, I found my self healed and my heart filled with love and peace.
I wanted to share with you what you did when you shared this most pretty submission. I thank U ! :) :)

Quote by ElvesSweet. I don't quite get why the girl's hair is overexposed on the top of her head; makes the defining boarders of each element hard to define and my eye isn't very happy about that. ^_^' Other than to give more contrast between her hair and the bird's wing I'm not sure why her hair color fades here. I love the colors/gradients you've used throughout the piece - they really make the wall feel like it's dated though it's made through modern technology. XD Very cool bird - great job making swooping feathers. Nice work!

Superbly nice just as Elves said...

    4.4/5 stars i can give ^^

It's a real nice wallpaper... OX
