this is my second time submiting a wallpaper and hopefully this one wont be deleted, lol. Anyways I never watched Spiral but after seeing the character designs i was pretty interest in making a wall for it. I chose the background from a photo of a deserted street from one of the n-gage ads. i made the backdrop darker and changed the color balance towards the blue side. I used the scan by Hiyu of some character from the spiral calender so thumbs up Hiyu for that one. A did a lot vector, saturation and colour burning and voila! lol, thought i'd go for the noir theme since spiral is all mystery and drama. newaiz hope you guys enjoy this.

Despite the darkness the blue is really bright and shinny, in my opinion. But the edges and everything in background is very neat, distinct and nice. Great Job! Keep up the good work

This is very cool!In the anime,this character doesn't show up at all...He only show up in the manga and I haven't read the manga yet...XD
I have always wanted to wall that scan...i like the concept
But it's not the same for the execuition....the stock photo you used is way too real for the scan, you could paint the stock photo to get rid of the big amount of details of it, here's a tutorial for that: http://revap.freehostia.com/2007/02/01/incorporating-a-stock-into-a-painted-bg/

like the whole layout and concept of it, the darkness and light blues of it, I
also like the text alot here. I would like to see the stock bg photo more
filtered, or like painted over some like how Naomi-chan suggested. You can use
filters in photoshop such as Paintdaubs, Watercolor, Median, Cutout, and etc for
filtering a stock to match the anime-ish style better, just have fun playing
around with it

the background seems kinda weird... it looks like a picture taken during day time and you change the brightness. it doesn't appears to be at night, and seems far too real. and the lighting on hizumi seems weird... cause the light is sort of coming from the bottom. normally streets like this have lights coming from the top and the side, but the surrounding of hizumi is rather dark.
i do like the idea of a night with very little moonlight though, since the brightness of the city seems to have overpowered it. so yep =)
(is that stock image for real? there seems to be more traffic lights than cars >...<)
The background looks a little too realistic here . . . perhaps there's something you could do to make it look more anime-ish? And even with the changes you made, it somehow looks a little too bright to be a night scene. I really like what you've done with the scan of your character though, he looks so cool!
