Lol, nice scene you have here although the floor (with the added mat) is awkward.
From my point of view:
If you wanted the floor to be that high above the chair legs, you'd have to cut the bottom half of the floor. So it looks like the floor is from an angle 45 degrees from above. And the people and chair is 90 degrees flat on from the screen.
I have to agree with acid-awakening in some points.
The ide is good and i like the outcome with some minor technical problems (you already found them i gues).
