No, the warm color was defiantly a good idea, and the highlights also worked out very well. The one problem I see is that the luminescent star in the middle of the picture, providing the light, doesn't really explain that white area between them.

Warm + hot and sexy?
Yes, I used an sunset/golden orange for the background. Don't hate me for that >.>; because if there was another version, it would have been navy blue for night effects or a sky blue (I thought that worked out well but people said it was too cool for it) so I used something warmer. I re did Mishas hair like 3 times adding high lights, smoothing it out and redrawing it. Other than the feathers and the sign under my circle (they were brushes from deviantart) is made in photoshop. If you don't like it then so be it. If you want another version, give me a color and post it as a comment and depending on how many people request it, I'll upload one.
Man I already got one bad comment on Animepaper.net. So disheartening, and the only reason why I kept changing it cause it kept getting rejected.
Anyways feel free to leave any comments ^_^ favs are nice too.

Ah, I shoulda explained that, the "star" thing were made to represent wings, hence the feathers.

I say ignore the bad comments at AP, especially the first one. All that was, was just bashing and not called for in the least. You did some good changes, but I think there was so much more that can be done with this wallpaper. I'd honestly recommend taking some time with it, going back through and keep trying different things. Experimentation is your friend and I can tell you for a fact that you are definately stepping in the right direction.
I'd recommend removing the feathers. A nice touch, but I just don't see them to be that fitting in the wallpaper. Prehaps something more pop-art? I dunno, but I could definately see the scan you used being in pop-art. That is, of course, if it would be something you'd want to attempt.
As I said on AP, you have a LOT of potential, just gotta keep at it =). I look very foward to seeing what you can do with this scan in the future and with more time :).

And I don't know why you got so much heat for that wallpaper. It's not the greatest, but it's not bad. I think the chick on the right has too much of her clipped off, but everything else seems fine to me.

yeah, i saw it, and you did a very good work cleaning it especially the hair part, but there are spots that seemed weird, like misha's hand next to aurica's hair, and misha's hand near the feather
but, overall it's a good wall -

Well ... I have to agree with Cy and the feathers, doesn't make any sense. You could of put more effects in the BG instead, look up some tutorials and experiment. Until you're comfortable on your own.
