this is my first anime wall that has been completely vectored and/or painted :D

everything has been vectored and/or painted by hand in photoshop

the sky, the petals and even the character herself, you name it, it has either been painted or vectored or even both XD

no stocks have been used in the production of this wall XD

everyone has waited whether it is for a loved one or just someone you care about so this wall is convey that whoever you are waiting for, you are doing just that... waiting

whether it is for a date or just a friendly get together, there is usually some waiting involved

about the wall

everything in this wall has been either vectored or painted

this wall has been completely painted or vectored in photoshop

most of the wall has been vectored although a good portion has been painted

i vectored the character from a screen shot which can be found here

as you can see the image was a bit hard to work with, considering how small the image is and that some parts can not even be seen and other parts have details that are hard to follow

i tweaked her hair a bit so if you look at the original screen shot and compared it to the vector i did, her hair looks a bit different

the reason i chose to do her hair like that is because it would symbolise that she didnt want her expression shown and that she doesnt want the disappointment she feels shown and reflected upon her face

the wings on her back have also been vectored although you cant really see all of the shaded areas

originally she doesnt have wings but i wanted to add them in XD

i chose to keep the wings simple so it does not draw too much attention since i didnt want the wings to be the focus of the wall

the wings are to help signify freedom, since with wings there is a sense of freedom associated with it, such as how birds seem free, due to their ability to fly through the skies at their own will :)

i chose a sunset theme because i thought it would go well with her and would kind of suit the atmosphere of the wall :)

the sky is completely painted

at first i wasnt sure how the sky was going to turn out so i kind of experimented a bit

i chose to use orchids in my wall as they carry a message of universal love, beauty, wisdom, thoughtfulness, refinement and reflections.

the pink orchids are the ones i have chosen to signify pure affection [the ones that she is holding]

these sites have a bit of information about the orchid and can be found here and here

the orchids have been completely vectored and the cherry blossom bushes have been partially painted and partially vectored where as the petals that are 'flying' around have been completely vectored although i had to make up some of the petal shapes ^_^'

the fountain base has been vectored and painted to give it that look

the water coming from the fountain has been completely vectored

the pole and the railing both have been partially vectored and painted

the pavement has been also been painted and vectored :D

the colours on the pavement are meant to be like that to symbolise how the light reflects differently off each area

this is the longest wall i have worked on so far and has taken me a total of 5 days to complete

altogether it took 32 hours, the longest period of time i have spent on a wall

i used many layers and quite a few have been merged but after the merging there is a grand total of about 295 layers due to all the vectoring and painting

each day she is waiting one more day

as each day passes it is always one more day that she has waited

everyday, one more day is all she asks for

one more day to meet the one she seeks

waiting forever just one more day

one more day she waits and waits

one day comes and another passes, it is just one more day filled with waiting

just waiting one more day

edit: water has been edited thanks to chole-chan for pointing out the water :D
edit 2: i added some shadows and painted her a bit to make her fit in the wall better :D thanks to maplerose for her all her wonderful suggestions :)

Very cool. The vector is neatly done and the background looks great! Though I would suggest painting the fountain water. Other than that, nice job!

Gosh! Amazing wallie, I usually don't like the vector pics (don't ask me the reasons) but this one is great. I'm also impressed with the amount of information, thanks for the link about orchids ;) + fav

nice work :) I like the water and the atmosphere with the colours, the balcony pillars, and how her expression is hidden for the viewer to interpret. However, I do have a few suggestions. The girl, the fountain, and the balcony all should cast some short of shadow on the ground; without it, it looks a bit flat and weird. The shadows on the girl could be more emphasized (like on her face, where her hair would overlap her forehead), and she might cast a shadow on the fountain she's sitting on (depending on your light source). Also, may I guess smudging the dress and hair shadows on the girl a bit? It's just that she's cell-shaded and crisp, while the background is more airbrushed and painted, so she doesn't seem to quite belong in the scene (esp without those shadows I mentioned earlier). But it's not that big of a deal if you're too lazy.

The colours on the pavement is a nice touch, but they look a bit random in terms of colour. Try blending them a bit and shade some bits to add depth.

Lastly, I don't like the text there. You can get rid of it completely, but if you really want it on there, maybe move it to a corner or somewhere else, so that it's not on top of the column thing? (it looks really out of place with some parts of it on the column and others not on the column).

    Anyway, nice work!

I like it, but I have to agree with most of what MapleRose said. Some shadows would be nice.
The water fountain could use some more highlights I think, a bit flat.
Great scene, and your vectoring and painting skill is nice for the most part.

And yeah, also agree with the text, argh, although I hate walls with text, hehe.
Sorry, didn't read ALL of your description, had a long day, haha. XD

O.O whoa, it looks different from when I first viewed it *looks at description* ahh...you smudged the girl to make her fit in..hmmm...I agree with what Maplerose said, about smudging her lines a bit to make her fit in better. But for some reason, when I look at the wall now (since I saw it before you smudged her lines) the girl looks a bit blurry. >.< When I first saw it though, I did think that she looked a tad bit too crisp..I think Im seeing her as "blurry" now only because I saw her before when her outlines where so crisp. The overall wall is really nice. I love the painted look, and you did a great job painting and vectoring everything (wow thats a lot of work!). I think the colors could be a bit improved..for example, the girl's hair looks a bit too yellow, and the coloring of the chair looks a little odd. The girl could use some yellow highlights on her dress (for the sunset lighting) and maybe a shadow for the girl?

    oooh what a huge description
    undrstood you have vectored EVERYTHING!
and it looks nice, the soft colors of your wall reminds me a peaceful afternoon at the roof of my house ^.^
and you have vectored averything nicely
seems the wall have a lot of work and effort
    nice one
    fav!

  13. gaara-no-shukaku Mar 01, 2007

Lol, you did paint and vector this. XD The atmosphere is very soft and lovely. You should remove the text though, coz painting hates text. Unless for siggy. Umm, why don't you vector the girl's eye as well? It would be greater than this. I think her position in the couch sorta weird. And the petals should have depth, add shadow on some area.

  14. enchantment Mar 02, 2007

wow, i love how you painted the sky :D the background looks lovely :) she seems odd in that spot, its like shes floating or maybe its just me XD anyway, i love her dress :) lovely wall~^^+fav

  15. norine07 Mar 03, 2007

omg, i love everything you did on the wallie, you painted it! 0.0 your so good! XD i love the colours you chose and the scenery you did! XD nice nice! the shadow is nicely done as well! really shows life in it! ^-^

  16. Kyelor Mar 13, 2007

You must be really proud . . . all vectored and painted yourself ^_^ The structures, the girl, the sky . . . it all matches up very well and the colors are soft and easy on the eyes. I think the hair was done particularly well, because you've managed to keep the wind movement and detail too.

  20. bella-ella Oct 26, 2007

Hmm, I found the detail on the scan a little disappointing -- she needed a face. Other than that it's simply gorgeous. Especially for a first attempt! You rock my socks EL!
