Great use of my Range Murata scan! This is why I scan, I don't have the time, patience, or (more importantly) the talent to creat walls like this. ^_^ Thanks for the work!
Artist Comment
Well, here's my new work. I really don't feel like saying much. I will explain the process a bit, though.
First I extracted the scan. When I saw the girl and the penguin together I knew right away what I wanted to do. I liked the plan I had for it. Unfortunately, like all of my wallpapers, I don't do what I plan to. Well, this time, not exactly as I planned. But, I did do the house which was part of that plan. The wood grain was quite interesting to make this time around. I saw a few pictures of wood grain that other artists did. I also took into account the things that two MT members said about my works and stuff. Well, that was my drive to create a wood grain and texture that looked more real. It might not have taken my much time to do what I wanted to do but, that doesn't mean it's not effective. I think it means I know how to do what I want. The process might not deserve much acknowledgement though. It was all custom made--except for the scan, of course. After I made the floor I started on the wall of the house. I knew that siding isn't always completely flat so I made the edges appear jagged so as to show the angles. The toughest part was making the bannisters. I don't think the banister looks all that well. I tried though. Maybe I'll improve. The landscape is what was different than what I had originally planned. I wanted to work days on it making plants and shrubs, rocks and roads. That changed because I realized that a penquin doesn't live in the warmth unless he is PenPen from Neon Genesis Evangelion. So, I made a colder climate... or environment. Clouds are clouds. Water is water. Anyway, I think some might prefer a different scene that has "FOCUS" on a particular part. Well, too bad. Not all perspectives have that perfect preferred "focal point." Lets get real here. I create what I can in appreciation of reality. Not by preference of over used terms and styles. HEH. Well, that's about it. Enjoy... maybe.

nice job with the background and perspective :) I like how you did the house and textures, and the snow's nice too, though shouldn't there be a path of footprints or something from the penguin? (or did he burrow under the snow?) The scan looks a bit flat compared to the background though...

This is too damn cute, I mean that ! I like the fact, the penguin and the girl are talking to each other. Reminds me of Dr. Dolittle because he could talk to the animals. Thanxs for the share ! :)
