when I was doing the wall, I started to think in the name and all that stuff and I stopped to think that many people is always saying, I love how the sky looks at dawn or I love to see the dawns ...but in most of the cases people is just to busy to actually around 5 or 6 of the morning stay in front of a window to see how the day begins, I dont do it myself and I find the dawns to be great, how do I know? no idea ( I dont even know why I started to think in that kind of stuff cuz after that I realized that the window in the wall was reflecting a beautiful dawn) anyway I found the Scan by DREAM awesome, so I remembered paint o rama haha and so I thought this was gonna work just fine with the theme of the contest and even if I almost stop from doing anything, here it is.
I'm so confused OX

ps.. as the way maplerose did.....you may tell me of what do you want the tutorial, since everything I did I find it....I dont know easy to understand, to detail....

ps2...this is the tutorial working with lights and stuff....I dont think it deserves to be a tutorial but nee there it is...

you're so fucking weird, man. i love it though (but more as a digital painting than a wall, i guess.)

    Hello alterlier,

you're always picking the images that I wanted to use as well. *lol* I started a wallpaper on this wall... hmm... let me think when... I guess last year in summer. And now I see it here. Anyways what I did was a vector... I never finished it. Your digital painting is cool, I agree with you that it works well for this scan. Maybe someday I'll finish my vector version. *lol* I found this scan very hard to work with actually because in my point of view it's already too complete and I'd like to see more possibilities to add my own ideas to it. I think what you did is pretty cool but I miss some special interesting Alterlier changes to the scan. Your version looks a bit scarier though than the original because of the hard dark shadows on the girl and the warped tiles. What I like a lot on this wall is the effect that you've reached with the outside of the windows...

Wow, that's definitely cool. I love that oily scene that's you've done. Especially those curtains >.< Makes me wanna hug them!

ZOMG what the F*ck am I looking at? It scared the crap out of me, and yet, I love it cause it is so.... wow.
Faving this for one those unique scary pieces you come across every now and then that turns on the fear for real rather than cheap shock. And great wallpaper too.

wow, really an interesting wallie and an interesting title, plus..an interesting animal or whatever it is close to the sofa. WHAT IS THIS xD?
Well, love the water-painting effect, love the dark and light part of the wall, so..

What a unique color-painting wall! This one definitely protrudes from the rest of your collection. Thank you for your hard work on this wall; it really reflects your particular style. Keep it up!

    Very cool!
The colors are awesome and the lighting looks good! Nicely done!

ooh pretty. nice lighting effects :) I like the painting style, though I think a couple of lines on the floor are too sharp compared to everything else (like the one on the right of the couch for example). Also I think the couch and the girl's leg should also leave a shadow in addition to the shadow cast by the ceiling/wall.

hmm, tutorial, I'd like to see how you did the lighting effects on the window (the multi-colouredness, and the glass effect). Either that, or the curtains :D

  11. eternallegend Feb 22, 2007

the curtains look lovely and the colours are well chosen :D everything blends nicely together and the arrangement is done really well :D i like the perspective of your wall and the way you did the lighting XD the tiles are done in an interesting way and everything is really well done :) lovely wall ^^

    tan malos son mis comentarios?

  13. gaara-no-shukaku Feb 23, 2007

The painting is pretty, neat and messy at the same time. Yeah, there are some sharp lines that distract the smoothness of this wall. Anyway, the tutorial is pretty cool. Good luck for the contest. :)

  14. enchantment Feb 23, 2007

wow, its painted really nicely :D i love the room and the curtains and perspective is really nice :D i love the colours you used as well :D nice wall~^^

Love the tratment of this scan. Nicely replaced the original girl in it with someone more mysterious and slightly more eerie for that dark half of her character that can be seen in the shadow.

Wonderfu soft painted tones in all the alterations. Appears to be seemless. Moody, atmospheric, and beautiful.

  16. DarthTofu Feb 23, 2007

haha. If you're like me and go to a nutter school, the only thing you'll ever see is sunrise and sunset, because they make you get up so early and let you out so late. They are very pretty. It's interesting walking outside when it's mostly dark and no one's up yet and the sky is bright red...

The girl is freaky. And so is the thingy that's next to it. o.0 I like the colors more than in the scan.

I lol'd at the tutorial. Best way to paint. Evar!

  17. GentleSnow Feb 23, 2007

I will never forget the times I woke up at 5-6, worst time of my life. But for me personally, when I see the sunrise, it makes me feel happy, warm, and a feeling that the world is alive. However, your wallpaper seems a bit too eerie and does not really create a sunrise effect for me. But it is still a very nice job technique wise.

Maybe you should try waking up to see the dawn one day =) Thank you for sharing

But the girl looks so evil... scary! >_<
    Great job, greatly done. :)

it's surreal. I can't pick out anything I especially like cause it's all good... well, maybe special mention for the dog... and the window... and the... * (you get the idea)

great lighting tutorial btw. This version is much better than the original scan.

I'm too lazy to wake up at that hour, but if this is what I miss, then :-(
I love the textures and the creepy feeling. It's wonderful!
