My first time coloring a manga page~
I'm not sure if this image falls under doujinshi or vector, since I didn't draw it or really vector it at all, but I
just decided on doujinshi. I just selected the masses of supposedly-black areas and filled it with a solid black to
clean the image up.
Original (shrunk down)
Feathers
Moon (stolen from the one made for Mission in Taisakusen, actually. xD)
other resources (mainly brushes and gradients
for this image)
5-ish hours to clean
20-ish hours to color.
The coloring is really just the selection of areas (polygonal selection tool), filling it with color/gradient, and then
adding a blend effect. Textures were mostly made via Photoshop filters, except for star brushes on Sakura's dress and
sky, Syaoran's clothes, and the tiles.
Syaoran was originally supposed to be in 'green', and the apple should have been the only 'red' in the whole image, but
my friend made some stupid comment on something about green, so I went ahead with a dark royal red for Syaoran. The
apple is 'golden' for lack of any other interesting colors (and it gives it a...mythological/godly/important feeling?).
I didn't want to re-use a shades of colors as well, which makes this image a bit...color-blocky? =x
umm...I don't remember anything else that needs to be said. It was done last week or so for a new layout for my xanga
and LJ, but I haven't been able to find anything good to do with the image itself.
End note/query: Can someone point me to a tutorial on vectoring, please? I want to learn the kind where you vector
something small to become a giant image (if that makes any sense...). Thanks in advance.
I don't think I ever want to color something of this scale again for a while. @-@ I'll stick to coloring manga for
avatars. >.o
For my neglected fandom. ;;>> TSubasa
EDIT//Thank you to the mod who moved this to the Tsubasa section for me. ^^
