Original Name Before Completion: Kaze no Tomoyo Hime [Princess Tomoyo's Wind]

Project Duration: 1/20-2/2

I'm BAAAAAAAACCCCCKKKK~ With a new vector! (Indeed I am a Vector Demon, saikusa-san! Hope that's a compliment. ^_^')

Now, this is my submission for Group Vectory's "Beyond The Boundaries" contest. This was the hardest vector I could find when it came to Tomoyo Hime (and all the vectors I wanted to vector were already vectored SO...). I liked her in the anime because she supported Kurogane like a long lost mother. *sniff*

Anyways, dramatic impulses aside, the explanation of this work is quite hard. Let me start with the hair. GRRRRRRR...I believe Yuuko's hair on The Summer Shall Wait For Us was easier than Tomoyo's hair, although the hardest thing to vector were the itty bitty little trinkets that are on her dress. The only thing I left out of the original scan was the moon. Honestly I like a clear sky and maybe vectoring the moon would've looked...not good, even though I was supposed to try for the contest...Heh, heh.....^^; But it wasn't an extreme focal point so I discarded it out of the final version, thus ruining my scan to vector ratio.

I almost perfected the sky like the original art but again, I wanted something more light for the eyes. But now that I think about it I should've gone with the moon...Erghh, if I'm in the mood I'll alter this vector until Vectory's contest deadline.

Thanks to marissa for his/her Princess of Japan scan.

EDIT [2/2-21:10]: Added missing color.

EDIT [2/3-9:31]: Thank you FlowerDog, for noting the missing shading. I accidentally turned off the shading in Photoshop when I was fixing Edit 1. One must not overlook these things, hee, he...>>

EDIT [2/4-14:03]: As requested by Yina, I've added a no-background version of this vector. Enjoy, wallers; Just make sure to grant me credit. =3

Geez will you ever do a vector of your own. You always steal the professional's work. The quality of this is too good. You really have to start making your own. Great job. I'll quit with these dumb, uncreative compliments. Your vectors are grand.

  10. Lucciola Feb 03, 2007

Awesome! It is not word for it...beyond awesome. I think you did such great job on this one. Only thing I don't like about this...is background...but your colourings and Tomoyo...did distracting me from looking at background. + fav!

Wow! This is gorgeouse. :) You chose another beautiful scan to vector. I'm amazed with the details, but the coloring really is impressive. You really try to capture the scenery's colors perfectly. Esecially the water, you colored it in so well and the plants/flowers too. The only thing about this vector is (please forgive me if it seems rude of me to point out) that you have incomplete shadows in Tomo's ribbons and you also lefted out some shadows (area where the ribbons are clustered, area near the mirror and some in the areas of her sleeve). Other than that it's perfect entity1660. I wish you luck for the contest. I am in favor of you to win. ;)

  16. EvilDragonBlade Feb 03, 2007

Wow! This is a vector?!? O_O I really thought this was almost a wallpaper. I can't believe you vectored Tomoyo, the flowers and the leaves. That must've been complex. It just wow's me a lot. Definiately I'm going to see this in the popular art. :) I must agree, your a vector demon too. XD Your like quickier than me I mean. :x I better get back to work so adding as favs. ;)
