Green Glass: Green Glass ~ Jewel Princess

Green Glass
Green Glass Mangaka Girls

My Personal Scan

A much more simplistic piece of art from Tukiji Nao, with a portrait of a girl set on a plain white background. At first I thought she was crying jewels, but upon a second closer look I realised they're falling from her mouth as if she's turning into a precious gemstone.

I like the jewels. The fact that she's "spitting" gems is a little bit shocking imo... I don't know why. But I'm used to bem shocked by the wonderful artwork with creepy themes from our beloved stationary artist... XD
The clear concept, undetailed is nice too. Tukiji-sensei have skills in every style! Awesome!
    Thanks for sharing!

I've read this story! It's a fairytale of old europe. ^_^
There was a very pretty and gentle girl who was always bullied by her stepmother and her daugther. Then once, the girl was told to get water in a well that was very far away. When she finally got there, there was an old lady who asked for water. She gently gave it and the old woman turned into a fairy and, for her gentleness, gave her the girl of always she spoke, jewels and pearls would come of her mouth. (I don't think it's that great, but oh well. XD )
Then, when the stepmother saw it, she immediatly told her daugther to go to the same well. When she got there, the old woman asked for water and she replied ''go get it by yourself.''
Then the fairy, as a punishment, made that always the daughter spoke, frogs and snakes would come out of her mouth.
The girl married with the prince and lived happily, while the stepmother and her daugther were banned from that land.
    The end. XD
Sorry for all this, but I got to emotioned when recognized the girl. ^_^
Thanks for sharing the scan! ^_~

I recognized the story too! Except in my version, she wasn't happy with the jewels b/c pple practically attacked her every time she spoke. So after she was rich enough the fairy took the spell away and then she married the prince and lived happily ever after.....lol.......Thanks for sharing!

Yap...you just took the words out of my mouth. I read that when I was 7 years old. It's strange how the past and the present can mingle. I also find it strange because it's the work of an Asian artist. It didn't shock me at all...there are various stories similar to this one. A girl who took care of geese and cried pearls, this one who spat gems every time she spoke. Beautiful art, strong roots. I love it!
