And again..we find starrliteangel making a wallpaper during final exams week
instead of studying spanish.
*Ughhhh...I hit another link, and my entire wallpaper description disappeared...-__- darn, I really dont feel like typing everything up again. *
gahhh this wall was supposed to be a quickie...why did it take me 10 hours..
Ok, first, let me explain the title. Ice and Snow comes from the name of a play that Daisuke and his schoolmates are supposed to perform. (however, Daisuke's family later finds out that its actually called Ice and Dark, and the ending isnt so happy) the quote "purity...or death?" comes from the part in the manga where Dark/Daisuke is on his way to steal the second hand of time, and Daisuke explains the story of Ice and Snow to Dark. Daisuke says snow represents Purity, but Dark says that snow can also represent Death.
I was actually experimenting with this wall...I wanted to see if I could achieve a watercolor look in photoshop. I dont have painter, and Ive always wanted to make a watercolor wallpaper. The entire wall was made from scratch, although I did get the outline of daisuke and some of the snow from the manga scan

the outlining wasnt so hard...it was just the coloring that was a pain in the
butt. I was having a lot of problems to get it look water-colory, and
PinkPrincessLacus came to my rescue when she reminded me that the brushes can
have a "wet-edge" setting. (thanks sam, that helped so much *hugs*) I
really hope I got the watercolor look I was going for!
Daisuke's clothing was so hard 
I
couldnt find a colored scan that had that had him with that exact clothing on,
(although I do remember seeing a colored scan that was part of the chapter from
which I got the scan I used...but he had a green shirt and the cloth in his hand
was orange...and I thought it would look ugly against the blue) so I just used
some simple colors..khaki and orange 
well, my descriptions getting kinda long, so enjoy!

It really does look like a watercolor wallpaper and I just love this wallie so much. You did an awesome job painting and coloring it. The soft colors adds such a great effect to the wallie. You did a beautiful job once again with your wallpaper making. =D

Wow! Watercolors? I never knew you could user wet edge setting in photoshop.
Though now I know sounds interesting to experiment it. 
Well this
was wel done. The colors and shades were well done plus the watercolors didn't
mess up. The snow was really nice in there and the concept is very good.
Definately adding this as favs.

me gusta bastante, los colores son realmente relajantes y el estilo de acuarela (jaja that's a hard one) se ve genial, como dijo mi hermano lo simple siempre es mas dificil de hacer bien ya que los detalles se ven mas por lo que tienes que tener mas cuidado.

in other words this wall is a damn good one...and you could say that the fact that it's in a snow field is already great.
Purity...Or death? I suppose one who is destined to find that answer out would be bound to choose first the meaning behind one and then discover the meaning behind the other. Perhaps combine them both. To choose to live, for example. purity could be the purging of uncleanliness and the death of what is unclean. It would allow you to live free and clear. But, as there are two sides to the story, I am left to believe that someone is also destined to find the other meaning behind it. A simple choice BETWEEN the two. That choice is simple. A wise choice would be to live free of uncleanliness and clear as purity. Then to accept death, peaceful and calm. The question is not only asked. It is answered for those who seek it.
