Yeah Creative title I know...
Anyway, the cliched characters in a row thingy, and to add to the cliche, it's rainbow-coloured!
I got the urge to do this after seeing this FMA
scan and this awesome doujin.
Why SEED girls? Because they're awesome! And they're so much better characterized and more likable than the Destiny
girls imo :)
I tried to match each girl to a colour that either reflect their personality, or they're associated with. They were
fairly easy to match up, except for Lacus, who's associated with pink, but since pink's not in the rainbow spectrum, I
had to do something else.
From left to right:
Fllay Allstar: Red because of her hair, and because she's so passionate as well as violent.
Murrue Ramius: Orange because of her eyes, and her warm personality.
Miriallia Haww: Yellow because of her hair, and her cheerful disposition.
Cagalli Yula Athha: Green because she's usually put into green dresses, and it compliments her hair nicely.
Lacus Clyne: Blue-green because of her Mizu no Akashi dress, and her calming personality and presence.
Aisha: Blue-indigo because of her hair and clothes.
Natarle Badgiruel: Purple because of her hair and eyes, and her slightly distand and cold personality.
I didn't include Shiho as you can see, because we barely saw her (at least Aisha made it to a couple episodes and had a
few lines).
I find it ironic that although the girls all have differerent (strong) roles and personalities, the interaction between
the girls aren't that much (unlike the guys). If you think about it, Cagalli and Lacus (although being the main
characters and love interest of the main characters) never directly exchange a single line in SEED. Fllay (another
important character) and Cagalli never spoke directly. Lacus and Fllay spoke once, and it was hostile. Miriallia
exchanges a few direct lines with Fllay, she never directly talks to Cagalli nor Lacus. Aisha has never met any of the
girls except Cagalli. Murrue doesn't talk to the younger girls much (except maybe give commands and have group
discussions with Lacus and Cagalli later on). Same with Natarle, witht the exception of Fllay towards the end. I think
the most interaction between the girls is probably Murrue and Natarle, second is probably between Natarle and
Fllay...
Anyway, that was the rant on my observations ^^; back to the picture.
sketch:
I think I kinda messed things up when inking... because instead of directly inking, I used another piece of paper and
traced-inked it... Also, I tried something new with inking this time. Instead of using pen, I used the black Copic
marker, which has a brush tip, and that allowed me to vary the width of the lines.
I also messed up on Lacus' dress... since I have a limited number of markers, I couldn't quite find one the colour I
wanted... but after I was done, I found that one of my highlighters has the
perfect colour! So I kinda went on top of the marker with the highlighter, hoping to get more of the hue I wanted... ah
well...
This version is made from mostly Copic markers, some white-out (for the shine and eyes), Prismacolour markers,
highlighter, and coloured pencil.
After doing this version, I did another version, using a different technique. Instead of using normal colours, I used
one colour for each girl. I'm rather fond of this technique, varying the shadows with pressure rather than colour. I
used one coloured pencil for each girl. Though Miriallia was kinda hard to do, since it's really hard to add the shading
and distinguish shades with the yellow....
I'm not sure which version I like more...
anyway, characters (c) Sunrise

Edit:
Ah I swapped versions. Put the coloured pencil one as the official, and you can view the Copic Version
