Today my family received some old paintings from my grandmother that just inspired me so much! I myself am I terrible painter, but I wanted to use the sense of paint somehow. I first had to brainstorm the main idea with pencil and paper D: But after that I was able to get going on it in photoshop. The blue paint in her hand...I wasn't sure to add that or not. But since my original drawing had it, I kept it. It's supposed to looks like a flowing river from the paint tube...But I'm not so sure it looks all that effective :x Ah, and here is the original drawing if anyone is interested since a few things did change :)

    Cool...*o*
This painting really drew my eye, with the colors and style.
I like the idea with her hand pouring the river in her dress and the style of the drawing. Nice try with the calligraphy too. :)

The painting is very suit each other. The whole idea is very interesting, the work catches the eye. As said by the previous commenter, the river idea is really original, and actually ingenious. It gives a supernatural feeling to the girl, without disturbing the whole harmony of the work. Great job, and thank you for sharing!

That is so mind blowing, it's like a 'mise en abime' (like when a movie features a movie shooting etc...), with the painter painted and her dress a painting !
Awesome lines, and the background color is just right, it's really soothing the eye :).

Awesome doujinshi chubbykitty! Like brom, I like the sake river and the paintbrush... it's surreal, but not too much so. I like the colors that you used and the background is so nice and subtle! Really makes the character/person stand out! Keep up the great work! :D

This is a strong piece, though I must admit I enjoy the sketch a little better in terms of composition. I think that the hair and the inclusion of the mouth in the sketch served to strengthen the piece, and the way those elements were changed in the vector do not appear as strong.

I think if you want a more "realistic" look for the river, I would recomend using more curvature. Kind of like making a recurring "S" form with foreshortening.

Being a painter myself, I do enjoy this piece overall. I think the inspiration and concept are great. The color choices, being muted, are also good and lend a slight vintage feel to the piece.

Hello I find this doujinshi very original... as usual from you. The whole composition is really good and I enjoy the idea with the river and the beautiful colors. ^^
