I'm debating on this for my submission for the Free your Inner Waller Contest held by Free--Wallers & Celestial-Luminesse ^_^' I'm so horrible... but if not, then its still my wall In My Solitude (sorry, my teamates, for having to put up with my indecision).
Anyways, I've actually been working on this wall for a very long time (a month atleast). My goal was to color the manga page, but I ended up cleaning it up in various places, redrawing the lineart, and adding touches to it.
The mountain was painted in photoshop after looking at a stock image, and the spirit's kimono was made up of mostly cutout kimono fabrics that I scanned. I wanted it to be colorful, but dark to match the night sky. Also, the black border was added to help the scale fit the screen size, as the image was not long enough to be a widescreen wallpaper.
I hope it looks alright ^_^'
Edit The texture on the rocks and the right side of the water had some funky issues, so I've fixed them now. (The water had a weird line going down the middle that made it half light, half dark, but it is there no longer). Also, the moon is now fixed and the mountains were tweaked. Though the blur is reduced, the mountains are still hazey because, well, they're mountains. They tend to look like that.
