rather naughty... Always try to seduce men and then drow them.

I'm not a mermaid fan, but this is a lovely scan.
I love her hair.And actually in most versions, the rusalka is a form of restless dead, someone who had died violently before their time like young women who had commited suicide because they had been scorned by lovers, or unmarried women who were pregnant and have to live on earth as a ghost.
The ghost version is the soul of a young woman who had died in/near a river/lake and now haunt it. This undead rusalka is not iusually dangerous, and will die in peace if her death is avenged.
They can also be children that had not been baptized, it was usually the ones that were born out of wedlock and were drowned by their mothers for because of it. Baby rusalki supposedly wander the forest begging to be baptized so that they can have peace. They are not necessarily innocent, and can attack someone dumb enough to get near them.
