Scampi: You are correct, they are twin brothers. This is explained quite clearly in the game. They have always been unquestionably male so I have no idea why some like to say they are female.

Yeah, I've read that they're male too. I've also seen some screen caps, so they are male. But they don't follow the rules of their own species' anatomy! X( They have tails~only girls are supposed to have tails! That's why I think people get their gender mixed up. Oh the liberties that writers can have messing with the fan's minds. *sigh* I still like the scan though. Thanks for sharing.

Um… Not only girls have tails. You see other males characters with tails as well (in the anime, at least). Besides, artbook sketches hint that Oboro has a tail too, just a very short one. O_o

I don't get it. They are GIRLS! Could we just drop it already. I say that they are girls not boys!

I found that confusing too!
In the anime Q&A they are boys but they end up in bed with Obero so I'm guessing they're girls!
(I hope so anyway. They're cute!)
