I took The Death since the death doesn't mean death it self.
And also, I found it interesting to draw this and adding up meanings and symbolic inside it.

The character is from my Original Character, that I was designing for having the title the death XD She is a she, but looked like a he too. (Why I always like to draw girls that can disguise as a he?) Well... her name was Korin/Corin, haven't thought of another better name for her. :P

Sketch: pencil mechannic ; Inking : Drawing pen 0.1
Color : Painter 9 for base, Photoshop CS2 for finishing and adding etc.
time : hmm.... welll I think it was 4, since I got other things to do and this got left behind, so It was finish bit by bit.

Okay, about the card.
Like I said, the Death doesn't represent literally death. But it mean the death of the people who was now what he/she had become, and rebirth for starting the new life a head as a new person.

In the divine, is like you throw away your past or your old you (usually is something negative) to be a new you or it's also mean, taking a chance for another better things to be much better.

And also, the Death represent a gardener who harvest the seeds of life. That's why I draw her like after chopping the grass that represent the death people (well it was suppose to be bloody hands and face, but I got no mood for that so I end up with grass), the glowing egg shape flew in front of her is the soul of the death that was to be taken to the mother for rebirth.
The lamp at her hand, that also a sand clock, represent the time of the humans to their death, but also the light towards their new life.

I draw her like a priest but not a priest. Since I think the death's work was not always mean ill, and in the card the death can mean good and bad depend on the reverse side or not. That's why I leave her hair golden not white nor black ^_^

I use flying butterfly, because in some history that I read (like moth), and also because I played Fatal Frame 2 and watch Bleach, butterfly usually represents the souls of the death. The butterfly are gatthering around the death because she was bringing the light of path of rebirth.

Don't ask me about the background and the death tree XD since I just drew them out automatically XD XD
I just felt the situation I drew fits with the background and tree XD

I can say just 1 thing: Wowowow :D Seriously, I like it very much. I wanted to draw something similar to this, maybe a bit darker but I just can't draw what I imagined. So I'm really glad that I found yours here, I like it. Of course, I won't use it in my name ;)
