For Candy-chan and Gideon, fellow Art Nouveau wallers-in-crime ;)
The original art was already done in Art Nouveau style, and has been my favorite image of Letort for years. It's about time I actually walled it. Plus, Letort is hawt. Hawt guys on my desktop, mmmmMmm!
I extracted Letort probably several months ago, but never got anywhere with the framing. I found it again recently so I decided to actually finish it this time. The top frame is based off the scan, extended horizontally, which gave me the perfect place to put the title. The frames on the sides were based off of artworks by Alphonse Mucha. The various overlays of forest use stocks from Stock Exchange, and were selected to match the original scan.
The original scan is a rather odd combination of green framing and purple Letort. That's because Letort's colors are dark blue and purple, but I didn't like that combination in this wall so I used several layers of selective color to make his clothing green and yellow.
Texture for that good ol' oldtime feel, and to blend the scan and framing together.
The hardest part about using Art Nouveau framing is getting the thing to look decent on 16x10, 4x3 and 5x4. I used the same technique for my last Nouveau-styled wall (Gankutsuou/We Were Lovers) by using 3 sets of frames, each one adding to the horizontal size of the finished piece.
More resolutions! (In other words: stop complaining!)
Inspired by: Art Nouveau in general, but Candy-chan's been walling a bunch of Nouveau lately.

i know my comment is not so imaginative, but it"s very beautiful, i like how u managed to replenish the scan! also a nice color choice~ and of course a quality submisson~

Very nice wall. Like the art noveau style a lot.
Good that you changed the colors of his clothes, it looks much better with this colors as the original one.
The background is adorable. Great work on this.
Must have been hard to made it.
Over all a wonderful piece of artwork.

That's lovely. I gotta say the colours and the framework is simply perfect.
Also, those textures sure bring back the old memories. =D
I love how the frames look like those coloured window panes. Great wally tama.

i just love this style of artwork :D
And you did a good decision in changing the colour cause it looks greater with milder colours :D

I absolutely love the frame, very nicely done. Love the colors and the textures work well. Great job!

Those frames are really nice, and you did a great job incorporating the ones on the sides. Blending, texturing and forest thing are all good. Allthough I would have liked to see more random swirls around the hot dude, and maybe a wider palette of colours (art nouveau is originally always more colourful than we remember)
damn I like those eagles XD

I'm in love with this wallpaper. ^^

ah I love the art nouveau style. What I like the most is the textures in the background. It fits with the scan and patterns so perfectly :) it kinda reminds me of a marble mural or a tapestry. good choices on the thicker outlines too ^___^

nice work!

While the choice of colouring has definitely caught my eye, I think I like the best the effect you managed to obtain in the background with the forest images.

actually the artists name is : Alfons Maria Mucha
for some unknown reason he is generally incorrectly referred as Alphonse.

what i wouldnt give to see a wall of Mucha's "the Moon" or Aubrey Vincent Beardsley's "Peacock skirt" or any work of Mikhail Aleksandrovich Vrubel's.

I could die I say- i could die.

o_O
The frames are awesome. the details!~
I can't find anything that i don't like here.
excellent job.

Wow...I love the cool designs in this wall! Amazing colors too! ^^ This anime looks like Magic Knight Rayearth. I really love it! Keep it up and thanks for sharing! ^^

Hmm...very pretty. It really stands out, and I love the work you did on the fancy border/frame. Also, great work on the color scheme, the changes you made to the original scan look terrific.

Noveau forever!

Neko forever!
