This was originally a screencap from Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (His and Her Circumstances) and a black and white sketch (open in new window, please). It was difficult to trace the outlines with the tablet because I couldn't identify some parts from the original image. I've also edited some parts.

Q: Why is this wallpaper so cartoonish?
A: Because that scene is supposed to be funny and cartoon style is cool.

Q: The title is misleading, I cannot see any teary eyed praying angels! Bogus claim!
A: Then think of the girl on the left as a praying angel.

Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou is an old romance comedy show and worth checking out. You will be surprised how well balanced the mixture of sad and funny scences is and how greatly the character's feelings are portrayed. Typically Hideaki Anno.

    HAHA, nice wall, hard to see this kind of walls around, when I saw the title kinda thought it was something like a girl siting on her knees, arms togheter... that stuff...

    But what a great surprise!

    The technique is ok, I like it a lot, this cartoonish style is very nice!

    Haha I couldn't keep that on my desktop for too long, but it definitely works for now. This shows quite some hard work and is well executed. KareKano is another of my fav shows, and I actually like the manga a lot too. Anno's adaptation is great, but the original kinda conveys the feelings more naturally.
