My tip would be avoid using too much white for the highlights. Usually to create a high impact highlight in painting,
painters use the complemetary color to be mixed with white for example a red apple has to have a white + green highlight
for it to stand out more.
Try adding more detail too though I think your work is ok.

This is actually my painting for school.. but ohh how I wished that Saya was a real person!<3 This is my first painting that looks ok. I hate painting and I hardly do so.^_^'
Logical critiques are more than welcome! Please guide me so that I can perhaps paint better!

The contrast between the light and the dark is too distinct; it needs more shadow effects.

While I don't know much about painting, the composition as a whole is quite well done. The shading seems to be in all the right places, and I like the idea of having Saya with her figurine! As for suggestions/other comments, I think on both Sayas her nose is a little TOO prominent. Maybe if you could make it smaller? Also, on the bigger Saya, her left arm seems kind of short and stubby, but I know that that kind of angle is hard... A great first submission here though! I look forward to seeing more from you in the future! :)
