Its not bad for a first time and you gave a good description about it too.
However, in my opinion it is too simplistic.
The birds that are between the girl and the more apparent birds are almost inconspicuous, I can't see them very well because they are so light (white) and small.I hope your not offended by what I said...ok, see you!

the soft colours look nice XD the texture adds a nice touch to your wall :) you did a nice job on the vectoring :D i like the simplicity of your wall and i like how everything is placed XD bit white but overall you made a nice wall ^^
