I can proudly say that this artwork is original in every sense of the the word. II created a watercolour drawing from the photo of my friend Jake, who was kind enough to be my male model (who knew that guys could be so shy about posing?!)

The original watercolour is below:

I quite liked how my watercolour turned out, but it wouldn't make a great wallpaper just the way it was. So I added many textures, brush work, and used stock photos to make the burning effect. I think the tape and folds gives the illusion of old forgotten paper. The blood splatter I created myself using red paint on black paper, scanning, then editing it. Hey, I didn't do it just for this wallpaper, but it's just great tool to have (it's also my avatar). I hope it adds to and not subtract from from the overall effect I wish to portray.

the portrayal of a tortured soul... it's well done. a bit depressing but still incredible.

I wanted to portray the struggle we all go through: striving to do the right thing, to do our best, while facing the challenges and tasting pain in the process.
