Hum... nice new sig ^_^
Anyway, i like the level of detail (clothing !, little carved symbol on the tree), and shading is pretty good as well
(though it would use a bit of cleaning). It's weird, i don't remember that character from any of your drawings
(the one i remember best is the guy with a braided hair, who stands back to back with a woman... that one was sooo
cool).
So, as i was saying (lol), i think it's a pretty good drawing, but the 'staring into empty space
expression' isn't the way i see it... here he looks focused somehow (i think). It might be better to have him
lay his head against the trunk... but that's just a feeling i get (that he is focused). Otherwise, neat lines for
the chara !
