Hmm, okay well this is my first attempt at creating a vector. I used a screen shot from the second opening of Blood+. I really loved this opening, and I was caught by the expression on Saya's face.

So, the technical stuff, this wall took me on-and-off about 10-15 hours and it has around 40 layers. About the feathers... they look kind of weird, I took them from a few other screen shots. At first I was going to leave Saya's shirt just a plain colour, but I tried using some different textures and I think the floral print is very fitting. I wanted to make it look like a komono.
I believe this wall is one of lonelyness. Saya always seems so alone, yet because everyone depends on her she must also be very strong. I think that this truely protrays her quiet struggle.
Anyways, sorry for the kind of long description. Please tell me what you think, I tried really hard on this but I'm new to vectoring and I don't know if it's any good...
[Edit] Hey, thanks everybody for all the comments. I changed the texture of the komono, and the angles of the feathers a little bit. I also tried to do something about the pixellation around the face, but I wanted to leave the background simple. I hope everyone likes it, and again, feel free to critique my work!

God, i loved Season's Call. such an amazing piece of animation.
the vector liens feel a bit thick, and i don't really like the filtering you did on her kimono - overall, it's as if the piece looses a bit of energy from the screencap -> wall. there's some pixellation issues in the vectoring on her face as well. A good start, but there's more that can be done with this, i think :o

Not that bad for your first vector. Line on her face shouldn't be pixelated that much and if you look at hair closely it looks like very rough gradient, but aside of that I can't see any other mistakes.
Now for the wall itself:
Your concept is really good, but it's power have been lost in details just like placement of those feathers - you can
draw almost perfect circle between them... one should be rotated, moved or resized (or all three).
Another thing is what you've done with Saya's shirt, on thumbnail it looks quite good, but in full view... is not.
And, at the end, bg just too plain... some texture would work.
I was expecting some more after clicking thumbnail, but I'm finding myself quite liking it ^^ Just try to work at it.
