I've sent another version of this drawing of mine to the planning board war, but it was very different, I didn't manage to color and fix it as I wanted.. T__T

This is the final version, digitally painted ad bg fixed, representing Federico and Giada from "Signi Clavis" (my original manga), trying to explaining their strange relationship, something between boyish friendship and complicity, but with no love impliances ^__-... or not?

btw they're just killing rumours XD, hope you like 'em ^_____^

edit: filled better the bg with relationship explanations, applied some filters to all and fixed federico's face ^__-

I really feel your first submission here has its own beauty to it. As I've said in frozenwilderness' post, I really feel somehow it was my fault at not pointing out clearly to the judges that the doujin should be judged based on the slogan and not on the 'FUN' concept itself.

If this is worth anything, I see why you put the original newspaper BG in? It's like keeping in line with the whole "Extra, extra! Read all about it! Gossip! Meaty news about the Federico-Giada relationship!" feel. But I guess the judges had their own ideas about the original drawing, and I'm not contradicting their own pronouncements on your doujinshi! As a matter of fact, I think it just validates that people do have different takes on art, on what is beautiful or original. The scoring of w.a.r., I think, reflects not that a particular artwork is unoriginal/lacks expression and technical quality entirely; rather it also shows how the judges expressed their ideas on what's original, etc. ... I think one of the judges remarked that your art really is "manga-ka" material? I would like to believe that at that particular moment, at that particular comment, you and that judge connected and he/she saw that particular component in your draw which you kinda forgot to mention, that these characters are part of your manga story and you're basing the slogan off your story.

Both drawings are beautiful and expressive, in my opinion. And I'm happy you even took the time to 're-cast' your doujin! ^^^ It would have been great if you'd included your characters' story with the submission, so as to have let the judges share your take on the 'No Love Admitted' slogan.

Lol, that really sounded incoherent, I think... 'hope you loved the w.a.r., akachan!

Ooh... ^^ I definitely like this version better, although as chara said the first version definitely sorta allude to the theme better. In any case, really lovely work on the characters... >_< Wah! Lemme know if you wanna do w.a.r. round 2, ^__^
