The paintedness of this work made me think that this was perhaps really painted by hand and then scanned in :o Not only that I really dig the forest background. It's perfect and done extremely well.

XD I really love this doujin, definitely was blown away by the painted details when I saw it first... and the dramatic lighting! I think I agree with the judges who pointed out that the lantern could've used a bit more detail, but that'd be my only bit of critique really. Really sweet work, XD
