Kazuya Minekura Mangaka Saiyuki Reload Gunlock Series

The original is 1440 x 900 for my screen, but for Minitokyo standards I cropped this one to 1280 x 768 though. I wanted to make a wall with Sanzo's robe down, but the laying down possition of this one made it hard to come up with a background. Was going to go for the usual overlays, clouds, colors and all that good stuff, but it just didn't seem right. In the end, I figure, get him on the ground and then used a gradient for the background then used different brushes for the grass and stars. Finally I found the image of the back of a jeep, traced it and made a sillohuete and later added the moon from another picture. Used the same technique for Goku, Hakkai, and Gojyo in the background. For Sanzo I duplicated the image several times and blurred it to give that glow and added a shadow, though I think it's hardly visible now. Oh well, I really liked how it came out. Thought of maybe adding words but seems it's got more than enough going ^^; Main image souce was from Minitokyo gallery. I hope you like it!
