    Atmosphere

When I gaze at this wallpaper I see a lot of movement in the background. This is a background you'd expect to see a character with an action stance in it, someone holding up a sword ready to fight, or a gun pointed ... Maybe a jump in the air, falling. Whatever it is, I see here a girl standing looking very displeased at me. She looks mad enough to just take one of those swords and kill someone. Haaha, and the swirls in the background make her seem crazy, because it's making me dizzy just looking at it.

    Composition

There aren't many physical elements placed in this wallpaper, because it is an abstact piece. Therefore, I can't understand the text, it seems really misplaced. Maybe a different font would of been better. I would think there'd be tech-type font, because of the abstract sequence. Oh, the girl is placed on the right, so that for windows users can leave their icons on the left, and not go over the girl, good thinking on that part. I'm thinking the effects should be more behind her, to focus the energy on her, so you don't get distacted to look in the middle, where a hole appears to be.

    Colour

The colours are very basic in this wallpaper, you see purple and black is dominating. I see you took it from the original scan. But personally from experience, you should try a colour that makes the character pop out! This gives the wallpaper more depth and energy .. Now it looks very monotone and a tad boring in that department. Experiment a little more in that department. Unless you were going for a soft and calming scene, you would use very little variation in colour. But from the energy in the background, I don't think that's the case.

    Quality

Ahh, here's another department you need to work on in this piece. The character looks a bit blurry, and she doesn't blend into the background so nicely. The droplets you put are also blurry, giving the wallpaper a low quality look. Make sure when you save your work, exporting; Make sure it's on 80% or higher depending on the resolution, otherwise a jpeg compression will make it very grainy, like you see in background effect.

    Overall

I say you're on the right track in experimenting, you'll find a way to do your work you like best. Which style, colours, etc. Just keep practicing, and you'll get better, I remember doing wallpapers like this. Not saying I'm a professional, this is all merely a personal art review from me to help you improve. Keep it up always, good job!
