Hi.
finally back from LA :nya: and have time to submit this.

This wall for the Pre-90's anime challenge over at Animepaper.
Got this kiki's scan from Icehand :D
The houses are taken from various Hayao Miyazaki's scans...
I just went with the usual scenic background....and put two totoros up in the tree for fun :pacman:

O_O This wallpaper rocks Ayaki... you are an amazing waller!

I just realized, this scan of Kiki reminds me a lot of a Takamichi scan that I walled... her pose, and I love how she's looking off into the distance. The sky is gorgeous, and I love all the little touches that you added. The tree looks a little strange though, in the way the leaves are clumped; everything else looks lovely :)

    *high-fives aki* xD

OH MY GOD! O__O this wallpaper it's so... ineffable, it's unique and so full of feeling and tecnique that I don't know wich one of these two mesmerized me first.

The tecnique it's quite clear and the way you worked the grass, the flowers, the farm houses, etc. Gives the wall an ethereal touch. You did a great job with all the layers (but I don't like the way the trunk of the tree is done... it looks a little bit artificial in contrast with the amazing background) and I love the way you put the tittle on the rock XD lol you rock ayaki!

The emotions of these image are very special, it gives you and innocent feeling, almost like remembering a good summer of your childhood in wich you laught a lot but also you enjoyed the beauty of nature, and you could still remember the rays of sunlight on your shoulders... lol at least that's what this wall makes me feel.

Thanks for creating such a lovely piece of art ^^.

    >___<b the winner.

its the little details that really fit the wall in my opinion.
the flowers, the houses, the tree.

although one thing stands out as odd. the broom handle is slightly too thick for the actual broom brush, i think. does it have other purposes....like hitting unruly kids? XD

anyway you guys won fair......savour it while you can!.....^___^ jk jk

    waah so cool XD
There's not much kiki walls around here. And it's a so cute movie ^^
I'm amazed how everything you paint and get from other scans match really well all togethere ^^
It really has this "illustrated book for child" feeling. I love it ^^
Did you also painted the flowers?
Thanks for sharing... add to fav!

I usually do not like brushed up trees. They look too generic, but you pulled it off really well, I like how it looks. The blending is smooth and the scenery is more than admirable.

A nice, scenic wallpaper and the Totoros are a funny add-on. Good design, creates a kind of melancholic mood for the wallpaper. To me the only problem is the tree - a bit too organised and 'combed'.
