This was my entry for the challenge of the Crimson Orchestra versus the
Foundation.
the winner was us 
the crimson orchestra.

my idea was at first to recreate the feel of the painting from the series. but
then i decided...not to. don't remember why, just didn't. so i went for a theme
with the red, red-orange and orange, and made my wall based around that.
also, i gave the scan a major reCG basically doing half of her skirt, half of
her hair and some of her legs. drawing it all from my head 
so, thats about it i guess.
oh yeah, melismatic means:
several notes sung on one syllable: a decorative phrase or passage in vocal
music, especially one in which one syllable of a plainsong text is sung to a
melodic sequence of several notes
Thanks to all the members of my army for all their help, advice, and doing a
kickass job under some tough restrictions.

Really bold colours and an exceptionally good use of perspective. I particularly like the sun which looks like it was consisitng of several geysers or hot lava waterfalls...

You did a really good job with the colours and grunge. We don't see a lot of scenic grunge these days... I really like your blur effect and the jupiter-type planet. Looks great. *fav + highlight*

That's a really neat perspective. I appreciate the blurred leaves in the foreground, it brings so much depth. Nice work CGing the parts you did (since I didn't even notice it had been done). I like the balance of colors as well. Great job!

This is really nice. I like the out of focus stuff in front of her. You did a great job on the character. I also like the weird stuff in the bg, it goes with the feel of the series. This melisma is obviously from a mad scene...kinda weird but absolutely beautiful.
Some people would not notice the leaves/branches in front of the character, even though its well made.
