hmmm. the one lingering thought i have after making this wall is that George would never use such a rough fabric :P.

This is one of those walls where a really cool concept pops into your head and then you have to wait patient ly to find the right scan for it. In this case, this was the right scan. I wasn't sure if i could create a realistic-looking "stitching" effect, and truthfully, i'm not happy with it even now but the wall felt done, so i let it rest.

The "stitching" was all done by hand, with me, the 1px round brush and 400% magnification. It didn't take nearly as long as you'd think it would, either - i had George and Yukari done within the afternoon. The ParaKiss words are my own writing, scanned in for this purpose.

Lots and lots of stock came from sxc.hu. I've been working on this from Friday lunchtime 'till about now, listening to Outkast's "Roses" Enjoy~

Btw guys, trust me - full view on this one.

Highly original and creative. The stitches are almost realistic, and very well done for what would have been a tedious job to do. Great choice of colours and style as well. This is a wonderful wallpaper. Well done shiningdays! Keep it up!

it a really unique wallpaper...i never even thought of having a stitching in such a situation! XD and i must say, that scan you picked was excellent, very "old england", fits a stictching on a hanky very well.

but what i don't like is that...there is little contrast in general.and so when everything blends in, my eye gets confused where to go and the stitching, which personally i think should be given the most attention, loses to the rose petals(or whatever flower petals those are).also, the petals are not really randomly distributed, so it seems like someone purposely dropped them just around the stitching, and that makes the whole picture less natural and takes away some of the charm.the stitching also somehow doesnt flow with the folds of the cloth.plus, the stitch and cloth seems apart...maybe because of what i meantioned earlier, the folding and all, but probably also because of other reasons :\

but hey, to do what you did?its really original and intrigueing.actually, because the colours were so close, i didnt notice the stitching in the thumbnail XD and don't worry about my criticism. if you get irritated by it, console yourself with the knowledge that i cannot produce such intricate pieces like this ^_^' i'll lose patience, or i don't even have the skill to do it.yet. <3
