So I've been sitting on this project for rather a long time...I even sketched it out by hand at one point before I got distracted by other things

But I finally got it started and got it finished...
so here's the wall version of my Deck'o'Cards contribution for the Invalid Litter Dept...the five of spades

The character is vectored based on this Okama scan with obvious alterations
Everything else is free-hand vectored with the exception of the Illustrator brush used in the background

Technical Details
Time: about 15 hours
Layers: about 30 layers after merging character layers
Illustrator vectorwork

This is far too autumnal, while we're in the throws of summer ;) But it looks so much fun! Nice clean artwork, with subtle hints of detail beneath the surface, and one really fun & happy looking 'playing card' in the middle of it all... It's an ingenious twist on theoriginal scan, and I love the way that your work keeps introducing me to new artwork & artists :)

Alterations? You've almost completely reinvented the image, and very creatively. Love how the spades become the leaves. Very autumnal, and very warm & fuzzy.
