ohh ho ho ho finally I managed to finish one of my Takamichi WIPs. I've had 5 psds with billions of different ideas forever on my damn HDD, and could never work anything out. So not too long ago I re-browsed the category and sumbled upon this scan, wich would be easyier to work with since the character was upfront and not in the middle of a weird action. Allthough those are the best Takamichi scans because he can captures life so well, but yeah, it's still one of the best artists I know.
Sooo the bg was painted (surprise!). I did use a stock to work out the main beach colors but that layer disappeared
pretty fast in the walling process. Boat is from the original scan. Birdies are smudged stock. Everything else is from
REAL (dammnit) scratch.
edit- btw. the scan was really really grainy, so I had fun reCGing for hours. The only low qual thing left are the
outlines, but I did my best it looks pretty much Ok to me anyway >_>

I like the plain beach setting going on here. I don't know if the boat blends as well as it should, but it's still a nice touch. The clouds look nice being not-over-done, this way it doesn't draw the viewer to the background rather than the main focus; the character.

your starting to get more on the pop art perspective for some reason candy and i liek that, the in your face focal point with the soft smudged bg goes together so well. Beautiful for a summer wally! ^__^

Wow! It looks like a beautiful photograph! (only in a more paint-like sense.) She looks so comfy, and the background seems so airy. I can almost hear the wind blowing through her hair, and waves of the sea.
