lol, i swear i'm such an idiot. i just realized i uploaded this wall to AP without touching up some of the corners of the vector.. OTL

anywho.

hehe~

Don't ask me what the hell i was thinking when i made this wallpaper because i couldn't tell you. I saw this scan (thanks ~transcendence) and decided to wall. I also decided to vector (something which i generally don't have the patience for) and i'm surprised that i actually like it.

my main beef with vector walls is that just about everyone decides to go minimalist with them - i like to have something to look at in every corner of my desktop, so i tend to get bored quickly; hence the relative business of this wall compared to some other vector walls.

the yellow blocks floating around are supposed to be bricks. a kind of sub-theme for this wall would be the destruction of the yellow brick road (lol i kind of abandonded that halfway through.)

lyrics are from Eisley's "Plenty of Paper" ^^; Eisley's a funny little artist. you'll enjoy her if you like(d) Tori Amos~

There's around 50-60 layers in the thing; and i spend the weekend on it basically :O gorgeous, gorgeous scan..

lyrics to the song are as follows:

Something's growing under that wing
I think a face is dawning
Oh no the bugs are growing faces
And you're lost quite classically
With your nose in a book
And it seems so fitting
And perhaps this is the end we've sought after for so long
And perhaps now it's done
Cause we've found all the dire dreams
Of men and machines and
Turned them all around our
Indentical hands
Composing our commands
I cut the moon in half
And stuck a piece to my hair
It made the back of my head glow
Golden yellow and then I took
Ten stars on sticks and placed them in my small metal
Bucket and I gave the other half of the moon to you
Ooh, so you wouldn't forget me while I'm gone
'Cause we found all the dire dreams
Of men and machines and
Turned them all around to
Enjoy them and benefit ourselves
Our paperback books, our charming looks
Our indentical hands
Composing our commands
And oh my love
We can live on the sun
And wouldn't we be attractive
Riding in our shiny motor cars
With eyeglasses full of stars
And plenty of paper for scenery paintings
'Cause we found all the dire dreams
Of men and machines and
Turned them all around to
Enjoy them and benefit ourselves
Our paperback books, our charming looks
Our indentical hands
Composing our commands

*Pasted from AP...always want to do that xDD*

XD So funny i was thinking on make a "pop-art" wall with the same scan but when the scan was submitted, i have some problems opening the page, so i leave it.

Talking about the wall, i really like the colors, patterns and text and the idea in general, maybe the 2 things that maybe dont lilke to much the gray petals [with the soft colors, dont think they fit], and those birds x_x, for some reason it seems odd to me, but besides that is an awesome work.

    This is really awesome!
The colors are sooo cool and the vectors are really well done! Though, like RSK stated, the grey petals and the birds seem a bit strange compared to the bright, cheery colors of the bg and character.
    Other than that, excellent job!

really lovely vector composition. i absolutely love the colors used here. i dig the text with depth, but the text along the arm is too different from the other style and too recognizable for me to dig it. plus i don't find the placement of it to be very solid. the other text yes, that text no. from afar it looked like some pink abstract line thing which i liked, but not working.

secondly the umbrellas are a bit over abundant. too much repetition there, i like umbrellas as a motif, but again they seem to be a weak part of this piece. the colors used on them again are lovely, and the vector is really nice.

it looks really cool, as in weather, with a slight breeze and has a wondrous sound to it. but those two things fight with that. colors, colors, colors. great. with the faded pattern in the back and the birds flying by as solid silhouttes. enjoyed this piece very much. cheers and major props.

Hello, I love the colors! Sorry, I'm a bit late with my comment but I just saw this in Smilebit's favs. I'd agree with him that you got a bit too crazy with them but I still like it. I'm living in Austria and for some days now it's only raining even though it's spring. So this wall seems to fit perfectly for the current weather. *lol*
I like her pink hair and the contrast to the black parts of the wall.
I'm going to add you to my watchlist because I would like to see more of your future works. ^_^
