i like the way the background looks with the autumn scenery and how the leaves seem to look like they are flying in the breeze but i think maybe the background looks a little too realistic while sakura and rin both looking like they were just stuck there ^^'

I'm not sure if it is an improvement. They're both good in their own ways actually. Your's looks a bit more realistic, while the old one looks a wee bit dream-like.
