I've wanted to do a Nana wall for a long time but I had trouble finding inspiration...but after reading volume 13 recently...I felt fueled by Nana love and charged ahead anyway

Since couples are a tricky issue I chose to do my favorite non-couple pair: Nana and Nana
...went hunting through scans to find the perfect image to express my idea...but nothing was just right :(
So I ended up splicing together two scans with a few minor edits to get what I wanted: a sense of their eternal and fated connection
this one for Nana and this one for Hachi

I knew early on I wanted to do a monotone look, so I went ahead and vectored the two scans with the addition of the "string of fate" (somehow the color scheme ended up a pinkish red...overcoming personal dislike of pink)
...then I tried to plan out the background.........gah
I knew I wanted a style/design look rather than a scenic but not what specifically...
Three full revamps later I finally decided on the combination of lotus blossoms and manga text (which gave me the excuse to read through the beginning volumes again :) )

Technical details:
Approx 30 hours over 2 weeks (curse you revamps)
34 layers
Illustrator vector (trace)

Nice work! You'd never know that they were two seperate images, they look so good together. And I love the bright raspberry pink you've chosen. It's bright and strong like both Nanas :)

This wall looks so COOL! It definately looks much better in full view ^_^ You did a great job vectoring this, and the smooht glossy colors work wonders for the Nanas. I didn't even realize that they were from different scans until I read the description. Also, the curevs of the text and the lotus (ren?) flowers give it a perfect completion. I love it!

awesome work ^_^ , the effects are amazing , and so is the vector , keep it up ^^

the vector[s] look great but i think the layout would be better served w/o the text in the foreground [background is fine] since it takes away from the flowers. also the shadows on the Nana's are identical.

still i like your wall; although i prefer the rock in roll Nana..
    great job lady cyd84. :)

as you want, the wall looks monotone, but somehow, it looks nice, fit well! ^^

and then... idea the string of fate... makes me remind about yuri... *brrr*
    anyways, cool! *two thumbs up*

You can really feel it when artists put feeling into their work. This piece is splendid not only for its intricate vectoring but also the tones of red which add so much more to a feeling of binded fate, agony and friendship.

When two people who have so much in common, yet personalities that are like the sun and moon come together, is a story of growing up beyond another. This wall seems to deliver all that. I definitely loved the quotes, they were very appropriate. Keep up with these inspirational works of yours!
