Where did this come from? I'm not sure... After watching nothing but Miyazaki
movies for like a week, I feel in love with Howl's Moving Castle. The movie's
now one of my favorites, and Howl is now my bishie.
So what
better way to celebrate by making a wall?
This is very different from my other walls so far- instead of going for an
'artistic' look, playing around with styles, I wanted to make a wallpaper that
just looked... nice. One that doesn't cause you too think too much, or try and
figure out what it means. I wanted one that was great eye candy, but with a
certain amount of meaning nonetheless. Here's the result- after hours of
vectoring, using gradients, blurs, ect, it's finally done. The entire wall is
based off of a screencap, down to the very positioning of the stars. Since the
blue background looked a little plain, I gave it more depth by adding black on
the edges, and some color to the background. The texture is from mayang.com, and
was erased off of Howl a bit. Hope you like!

*hums song - "Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away..." cringe - now that's gonna get stuck in my head.

What you've got here is pretty nice. I really do like this scene from the movie, and I'm glad to see it here. I do think that Howl's features might be a tad too bright/washed out, I'd like to see a little more depth there. Maybe a little more texture erased from him as well. It just doesn't seem right. (Though I could have the movie screen too well ingrained into my head.
) I do like your wallpaper and see the work you put into it. Great job.
wonderful wall. Howl's Moving Castle gets so little wall love
great, subtle use of texture and a nice vector. elegant and fun.
