I guess you could say that I'm in an "old school" phase right now. When I saw the original scan to this, it brought back memories. I think that "Neon Genesis Evangelion" was the first anime series I rented in it's entirety, meaning that it wasn't something that I had seen broadcast on tv. I don't quite member where this image of Rei comes from, but I know it's from an episode I like :sweat:. I'm not a big fan of the ending of the series or the movies that followed it, but I do love the Eva manga and I had a lot of fun tracing this.
I changed a few things from the original. I didn't use black lines to trace Rei's facial features...I always comes out as ugly to me when I do that...so I changed that. Same goes for her hair, I think it looks awsome with the the darker blue. I put some text in the backround when I finished the first version, but I didn't like it, so I scraped it...looks better that way, more icon space :D I added some noise to give it a little texture. I also blurred a few of the details to take out the sharpness of the traced lines.
Hum, I think that's all I did, all in all, it took about three days of on and off work, didn't count the hours.

I pretty sure it's from the ep where they fight with the huge 'picasso painting' angel (the one that was going to drop it's entire body on Tokyo 3 and blow Japan to kingdom come)
Eva was the first anime I saw so alas, I've seen it too too many times.Great vector by the way, I wish I had your vectoring skills.

wow, you did an amazing job,.. how cool. Evangelion is one of the best old anime i have ever seen. Love the plot and the fighting evas.. well you did a really good job, Rei is so cool, but i love Kaworu ^_^ nice one. Hope to see more from you ~hugs and kisses~

the vector job on the image looks really nice,
but the wall could use a little bit more things there... ~_~
like start by making Rei not as big as to take up most of the wall and give a little more space for more creative effects pictures etc.
but nice work and good effort as always. *I know because recently I been starting to pick up on vectoring arts* XP

Nice work electrastar. I haven't checked out any of your past work for a long time, but it certainly seems you've improved your PS skills, especially in vectors. Vector all looks great, would've been nice to see some of your own added touches, effects, etc to background behind Rei or even to the foreground with textures and such. All in all though great work!
