This particular fanart's been a long time in coming, but....
MAJOR SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT; IF YA DON'T LIKE SPOILERS, DON'T READ! X-P
I've been planning this little project ever since the final smackdown between Aka-no-Ou and Kyo began, but after what happened in chapter 299-301... I almost turned it into something fluffy and romantic, with full justice given to KyoxYuya kissy-face (something I've never done before). Which would have been really weird after the "PWNED" fanart. So I stayed with my original ideas and lineart. (*^.^*)
The Idea:
I love the rock group Nightwish like whoa, and I've always wanted to do a fanart for one of their songs. "Ever Dream" is not my favorite song, but it's got the emotions I'm shooting for. Lyrics are here (and in the fanart), but the ones I concentrated on were:
Ever felt away without me
My love, it lies so deep
Ever dream of me
Would you do it with me
Heal the scars and change the stars
Would you do it for me
Turn loose the heaven within (=^.^=)
It's not the best song for Kyo/Yuya, but it works for the particular incident in the manga I have in mind. I have Kyo changing into his demon-god form here, but Yuya is in the background, praying for him to remember and hold on to his humanity. Of course, in the manga, she just ran up to him and made him remember, but that's for a future project! (*^.^*)
Stuff:
Would you believe this thing took me a whole week, mainly because of Kyo's hair? *twitches, spasms, and falls off chair* Yuya's hair was a lot of fun to do, and I'm actually pretty proud of it.
Kyo's demon eye look wrong, even if it's supposed to be all distorted like in the manga, I'm not completely happy with it. I did like all the tatters of his kimono tho... *^__________________^*
Please critique at will. I'm up for my first truly KyoxYuya romantic doujin soon, and I'd like suggestions on how to improve my style.
(sylva still ships Akira x Yuya and will continue to do so until you pry the banner from her cold, dead fingers)

Beautiful sylvacoer! I love Kyo's torn clothes! And I also like how you made Yuya all glowy-- the only thing that I could possibly find to comment on would be the fact that in your opening you said

lovely looking doujinshi
i like the shadows and the way you coloured it and i also like the idea and the preety hair style of the girl and the nice kimono they are great
but there is stil some things that are disturbing me like the charas eyes i mean if everything there is looking so soft than the black lines absolutly don't fit in there and the way her hair looks cut out is realy not looking good and you have to work a litle on the bodys and head of the charas i mean that the heads now look a litle "flet" and the body of the girl looks strange to
but keep it up

This has really good thoughts behind it. Yuya looks really pretty. One thing is bothering me about her torso but I can't put my finger on it. Hmm~ Anyways, her pose is really nice and contrasts nicely with the dark, brooding Kyo. Kyo's hair is really done well. *salutes you* His eyes are really intense but I think his eyes are a lil too close together. One thing, he needs shadowing in his chest area to create pectorals for him. I love the ripped clothes near the bottom. This is really nice piece. Good stuff~
