When i was making this, i couldn't stop thinking to myself "my GOD is this a busy wallpaper" but when i finished it and tried it out on my desktop it looked fabulous. Sometimes the artist is too close to stuff like this; and it's hard to see things in perspective. with that in mind, full view :)
Inspiration was simply the picture itself (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/200312/ deserved the highlight, no?) and a bit from The Faint - Symptom Finger (lols emo) Honestly i didn't do much execpt for fill in the background around.
I've been webdesigning since i was about 11 (i'm turing 18 this saturday, oh geez old geezer :3); and i remember one of the webdesingers i admired the most (Shana formely of sakura-saku.net if that rings a bell to anyone.) Used this image waaay back before ParaKiss or any of Yazawa's mangas were popular in a layout, and i absolutely loved it - the motion and expression Yazawa can create is truly amazing. Seeing the source image, years after the fact, i'm astonished by the graphical complexity of the scans - the layout i'd seen of it was basically just the line art (still gorgeous mind you); the numbers and stuff shocked me.
Spent aout 6 hours on it; with scarcely 14 layers. Beleive it or not, most of my grunge walls have under 20 layers. funny, eh? ^_~
This wall was made partially to call attention to the scan itself - there are far more skilled wallers than myself; and i'd like to see them tackle this scan, and see if any of them stack up to that layout long ago.

A simple looking, yet highly effective treatment of an unusual scan. The deep colours have been carried throughout the whole image, and soft tones do not destract from the main figure. With a strange mixture of squares and rounded numbers, and a gentle arrangement of colours this evokes a sense of warm passion on a cold autumnal evening.

Beautiful scan, and cause is Yazawa art i simple related it with some old Nana walls.
Is hard to work with yellow & red tones and dont give it a very bright look, is dark, and the change between soft yellows and hard ones is soft and well done. Nice set of brushes. Just not too sure about the numbers on the left part, but i can handle them.
Is a fav and happy b-day.

I've been waiting for somebody to make a wallpaper of this scan, and here it is. The patterns blend in perfectly with everything. The colors are gorgeous, and I really love the grunge effect you managed to add. I only wish that you added more of a sketchy feeling along the bottom, but still, nice work.

I really like this piece and I love how you blended the numbers into her dress. The design on the bottom reminds me of the story "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

:C I never log on when there are nice wps like this one, only when I browse 2 years later C: It's late but I'll just say that this is great. I loved the scan before, and turning it around was a nice decision. Love the pattern, doesn't look too elaborate like the excessive looking Victorian ones some people are using. Plus the script is really pretty, and the high contrast doesn't ruin a thing. C:
