If you really think they don't suit, how about trying to color the flowers to make them have at least a lilac tone?
This way it would fit the bg better :o

eto....it's been a while since i've been here and since i've been walling ^^;..
i just wanted to try out making a new kind of background...and then i remembered my fb scan which i've finished
erasing but have yet any background...
and so...here it is ^^;.. just added a few more extra layers after the scan..
though it's a little not suitable....since there are flowers in the scan but the background is dark ><...
i'll pay more attention to this next time^^;
anyway,hope you like it!

I liked your edit, but that background is a bit too powerful for for something subtle as "love triangle"... but that's just me. -
