This wallpaper actually happened by mistake. I was reading a tutorial from Summer Skies on Ethereal Designing. The tutorial itself produced some really cute effects and textures so I figure I will experiment with it. Prior to this, I was browsing Celestial-Star Gallery and saved a few scans from the artbook of Nature Spirit. I haven't heard of the title myself but the art is very pretty. The title of the artbook is Seven Colors of the Wind, hence the title of the wallpaper.

So I just followed the steps in the tutorial. Unfortunately the tutorial ends suddenly without finishing the wallpaper, for a good reason. I figure the webmistress probably wanted you to finish your own wallpaper with your own style. That is precisely what I did. I added layers and layers of cloud effects, all changing the properties to overlay for the soft heavenly effect. I also added about three textures to the background from Hybrid Genesis, which you probably can't see really well, because again I changed the properties of these layers to overlay and soft light to enhance the effect I was aiming at.

By the time I was done, I realize that the wallpaper looked kind of plain. I didn't want to paste the name of the series so I added random text. If you try to read it, it isn't going to make sense. I was typing incoherent phrases that popped into my head as I went along.

The entire wallpaper took about an hour to make, and exactly 14 layers (and a text layer). All in all, I liked the turnout of the wallpaper. I think it is by far my most artistic and favourite wallpaper.

I also made this wallpaper in 1280x800 resolution for widescreen laptops (such as myself). The differences are the placement of text and cloud brushes, and the color blend of the background texture, due to resizing the texture files to fit the resolution. If you are interested in the larger resolution, send me a message with your email and I'll be more than happy to email it to you!

For a mistake it's very well done :P It kind of reminds me of a flashback scene with the blurred images and random writing, although the writing seems to add a very intellectual touch to it. There's also something attractive about the colours, generally i don't like wallpapers that are to bright, this one appears to be bright but the colours within it are really soft so i enjoy it much more. A wall well done
