22 March was Kalico's birthday so I dedicate this wall to her (it's FLCL!).
so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KALICO XD

I'm not dead... at least, yet,... lol. Sorry to all that tried to contact me.. I'm in some kind of situation right now. In one case, my job is more steady, and life's getting a bit better. But in the other hand, I got less time for socializing (not only in real life, but I also lost contact with most of my net friends). T_T *sob*
I guess that's what having a life means. You have to work your *ss out of financial problems, etc. etc. but not enjoying that very life at the same time. It's sad, but I'm currently trying to squeeze the most out of life. So that's why I still do walling.

Neways, the entire scene was made using AI Then souped up with PS7 effects, and refined the colors. As for colors, you might have noticed that I decided not to use my 'blue-black' theme as in my older ones. Yes indeed. I've been studying colors and their emotional effects. Blue gives a depth of sadness, and mysterious theme, while brownish color as in my previous Blood+ wall, gives a sense of warmth, rustic, and natural elements. The brownish theme should gives off a nice 'heartwarming' feel to this wall.

Crits and suggestions are always welcomed. ^^

p.s.
For some monitors, it might look too dark, but that means you need to recalibrate it to the standard gamma.

Ahh... it is nice to see a really good FLCL wallpaper. The style is so fitting for the series, FLCL, but really out of the ordinary at the same time. I have a secret love for silhouette type wallpapers, and clearly Korganos has mastered this type (or just pulled it off very well here) It is so crisp and clean, and those colors just make this pure eye-candy!

Great work Korganos!

Great wall! It's simple and clean. Love the orange sunset colour at the back. I find the motorcycle to be pretty cute...lol...
Surprisingly, even though the city is in ruins, it doesnt come on as sad or gloomy to me. I think thats a good thing to me ^^
Btw, what does those three japanese words say? I only know the first word ><

  15. adapt Apr 03, 2006

Simply awesome. There have been many poor FLCL attempts in the past by different artist. This is like a shining light bringing life back to FLCL. This WP has alot in the overall view yet is crisp and simple. Definitely my new fav FLCL wp.

    TY

Work life suck, doesn't it? XD But I'm glad things are settling out for the better. ^_^ Totally love the perspective. It captures a sense of destruction and the sunset shows that it's finally come to end. But the warm colors really give a sense that peace is embracing the city. I liked all the vectoring and contrasts of light and dark. This is really well done. Awesome work!

Absolutely brilliant and warm to the heart, always been a fan of FLCL and this is the best from the series so far but yeah all in all the clean sweep of the whole building structures with Naota is pretty neat and the atmosphere reaches to the highest of heights!
    Great job Korgie! ^^

  18. MyrrhLynn Apr 20, 2006

Whoa my hand hurts just looking at all the vector work. XD Nice job on this one, there are so many extra touches you gave it (Like puttting the text on the telephone pole) that really gives it that high quality. Nice work! I do think that the brownish tones in this wall give it more of a warm feeling then some of your previous ones. :) Humm... I guess colors really do effect emotions?

  19. d1eg0 Jun 09, 2006

  20. airam13 Jun 12, 2006

It's really expresive and warming at the same time...
You can even see form the beginig the powerful contrast of the orange tones...I love it it's one of th best walls that I've seen...I just love it! it's really really nice!

  21. MadWiz Jun 28, 2006

my second comment on a wallie in 8 months XD

an impressive work, the background is absolutely appealing and pleasing to the eye the way with the nice combination of colours.. the bits of rubbles (I guess) in the air do well to fill in the spatial background hehe

the foreground is great with black.. excellent really..
but it isn't as pleasing as the background other than it being a nice contrast and attraction.. I think some parts of it just don't look that good not that I know how it could be better haha

the title placement is good (I almost didn't see it because of my LCD monitor's lousy up-down viewing angle :X) the dark-hard to see is good because it doesn't really attract attention hehe and also helps to fill up that space(even though its "pitch" black)~

hmm and I am thinking.. a guitar somewhere could be nice? I don't see it anywhere or is it hidden in black? just my thoughts anyway :)

    *applauses* ^^

edit: and.. if you already have a 1280x1024 version of this... I want it X_X

  22. Matsukaze Jul 18, 2006

The wall is perfect. I love the colors of the background!
    Great job :D

  23. tayots Sep 26, 2006

Wow, it does have warm feeling colors! its amazing that you come up with this wonderful and artistic ideas!
another thing implies here is the loneliness on the boy, yet there is hope (its the flying mini bike)
i'd like the concept and the drawings!

thanx for sharing this great wallie!;)

  24. Xenogearj Sep 30, 2006

This wallpaper is too good for words, but what the hell! The silhouette is great. The brown and orange is really cool here, i'm glad you chose it over the blue. I like the way you did the sky with the clouds and that crazy chic on her bike, its so damn funny. The mood is definitely there, and you were right about the warmth.

    Love to add to favs
