Did this a while ago in Illustrator. I did it before someone released a "fixed" version of it, so I had to draw in some things that were covered by text boxes and such.
I'm no good with backrounds, that's why you rarely see me with them.

backgrounds aren't necessary in a plain vector work

meh, its a good vector, but i just don't like it. the characters don't look the same, you've kinda made them look different. but w.e like i said it's good. nice job

I dunno what's wrong with the vector, since I dunno how to use it. But like it the way you make it. At least the screen will be "fresh", not gloomy like dark ones.
