Artist Comment

This is the first wallpaper I've submitted on Minitokyo, so any constructive comments are more than welcome.

Well, to start with, this wallpaper has been an off and on work-in-progress since I first got photoshop, and it's really evolved as I've learned to use the program more. I'd say I've reworked it at least a dozen times, and there's nothing to say I won't do it again.

The character art was found on a Japanese gallery site which has, unfortunately, been lost to me forever. I couldn't read a word on it, and I only found it in the first place during an image search for Motoko from Ghost in the Shell. I sadly doubt that I'll be seeing it again.

That's about it. Final version is only about seven layers, though that's mostly because several are merged together. I realize that it's rather small, but hopefully you won't take too much from me for that.

The next one will be larger, cross my heart, hope to die.

This is an awesome bg. So good that I'd like one with out the character in it. He is a little off from the rest of the wall in terms of shadows. He's a little too bright, considering the source of light is right behind him. But attempt to render actual lighting would give us a very dark shadowy figure and that's not good.
