This is from the Symphonic Rain Digital Picture Collection.

The title was suggested to me partly by a song from, 'Phantom of Inferno' the OST collection.

I was pleased how Irix would use grainy patterns in some of his wallpapers, and decided to give a shot mixing an effect with the background, and it worked out that I liked it better than without.

The *thumbnail* is fuzzy looking because of the grain effect, which surprised me.

Using very subtle light colors was a pleasure with this one. I played with pink and yellow but settled with the soft green. The original work was very colored with blues, but this mostly desaturated look is best for the diffuse effect.

I tried to draw tree branches. One of the few times I have the patience not to use only brushes.

Overall there're only a few problems I couldn't clear up to get to look as I wanted in the end. Feeling pleased.

If you use this wallpaper at a lower resolution, you might just miss her the smile. You might miss it anyway. Part of what I like about the piece. :)

At first the grain effect really put me off but after staring at it for a while i decided it probably was best that way, however i think the title is what influenced this decision the most. The colours used are simple and this is definately an advantage to the atmosphere, to many colours would wruin it. The girl looks very ghostly and i think it is really hard to see her smile either way, possibly the grain effect makes it hard to see but her eyes and the hand in her hair makes her look innocent and kinda happy, which i think is the main point

it looks good overall, i would suggest you do something to break up the monotony of the tree leaves though, like bigger text or grunge brushing maybe, and put more of a ghostly aura around the figure. it seems to stick out from the background a little too much. anyway the mood of the wall is excellant, the trees rule it almost looks like a stock photo. +fav

It's cool on how you used the grain effect for most of the entire scenery. It's actually looks really good and I like the overall look. I love the color and tone of your wallpaper. To me, there isn't anything that bothers me. I really like this. Please continue to create more wallpapers rknight1. :) Your taste in creating wallpaper is very interesting. :D

oh-wow--really like this. Seems soooo eerie and mysterious! I love the texture you gave it and the colors. The colors feel so right for the scene. And the texture really adds a ghostly atmosphere. Love the backdrop particularly the trees and grass. And like the reflection. The image in the reflection should be a bit blurry otherwise it looks like frozen water. Your idea of far trees varying in light and darkness with opacity is brilliant. This is sure a beautiful, creepy wall ^_~ Definite fav!

This wall has such a haunting feel over all. The hazy/grainy feel works perfectly with the idea of her "fading away", as does the lack of color. The idea seems original to me (though I don't know if there is anything else similar to it). Anyways, it looks great ^-^

Very eerie-like. I like the placement of the girl in the center which makes the bg envelope her with an eerie glow. The grainy texture makes it look like one of those old b/w home videos. I think the grainy texture is a lil much in comparison to the bg. The bg is really fitting to the mood. Really nice job~

Wow! Very beautiful work here. The grainyness works! Hehe! I checked out the whole thing, and I think your title for it really suits it.

I agree with the rest, it does have an eerie glow. But it enhances the beauty of it. Her simple pose suits the overall feeling.

I didn't miss her smile, by the way. :)
